Union Gap is a town/city in Yakima County, Washington, United States.

As of the 2010 census, the town/city population was 6,047.

Union Gap has a storied history and in recent years has turn into the retail core for the entire Yakima Valley as a result of Valley Mall and other grow businesses being positioned here.

The town/city of Union Gap was originally titled Yakima City and was officially incorporated on November 23, 1883.

In 1918 North Yakima was changed to simply Yakima, and the initial town to the south was titled Union Gap.

As of the 2000 census, there were 5,621 citizens , 2,070 homeholds, and 1,407 families living in the city.
